Connecting with students in rural or low-bandwidth settings

To ensure that students with slow internet connections can keep up in your class, offer alternatives, recordings of class sessions, and be flexible with ways to deliver classes and exams. Most of all, encourage your students to reach out if they have trouble with internet connections, and reassure them at the start of the course that you will find alternative ways to get the class content to them.

Spotlight on placement exams at UAF

UAF has many initiatives and resources to assist students in their academic success. One of the most important is getting students placed into the correct math and writing courses. With Spring registration on the horizon, this is a good time to let faculty, staff and students know of upcoming changes to course placement at UAF. Math courses will require proctored ALEKS Math placement exams. This Teaching Tip covers the requirement that will go in effect in November.
